Band rehearsal broke early for a very special celebration last night!
Our most senior member, bass player Alan Waite has turned 90!! Alan was the key member behind the reformation of Alford Silver Band in 1968 and remains very much an active member of both the band and the committee and is as reliable as ever on the Bb bass! We are greatly indebted to Alan for his ongoing enthusiasm and energy to ensure the band keeps going from strength to strength.
To celebrate, our secretary, Jane Taylor baked a delicious chocolate cake and we had a small party at the end of rehearsal. Happy Birthday Alan!!
